SUMMARY:Haslemere Town Band with St Bartholomew's Junior Choir
DESCRIPTION:[button link="https://www.haslemerehall.co.uk/sales/genres/musi
 c/town-band-concert-2025" color="silver" newwindow="yes"] Tickets[/button]
\n£11 (18 and under £5) from Haslemere Hall Box Office\n\nThe Haslemere
Town band has been entertaining local audiences since 1837\, as such we ar
e one of the oldest if not the oldest local creative organisation in the T
own and are keen to reach a wider audience and to attract more players. To
this end in recent years we have worked with other local organisations to
broaden our repertoire and profile.\n\nThis year's Haslemere Festival con
cert is the second in which we have joined forces with the St Bartholomew'
s Junior Choir\, last year we also played alongside the British Forces Vet
eran's Show Band. In 2022 we provided the musical background to the Lynchm
ere Pageant. David Wright\, our musical director also directs the Godalmin
g Operatic Society whose members have joined us at our concerts in recent
years.\n\nWe have also restarted our training band with some promising you
ng players joining with their parents to play ahead of our main rehearsal
on Wednesday evenings. We are hoping this year to link with Grayshott Conc
erts schools programme to give young players the opportunity to develop th
eir skills in ensemble playing.\n\nAnyone who has played a brass instrumen
t before would be welcome to come to one of our rehearsals (training or ma
in band) to give it a go\, new talent\, however rusty\, is always welcome!
